How do you Map a Drive in Novell ?
The following methods are available to map a drive in Novell:
Method 1: Determine the location of the resource you require then map it to a drive by browsing to the resource through Internet Explorer:
Right-click on Start
Select 'Explore all users'.
Expand 'My Network Places'.
Expand 'Novell Connections'
Expand 'UNB'
Expand 'UNB' tree
Right-click on the resource you wish to connect to, then click on 'Novell Map Network Drive…'
Select an unused letter and click on 'Finish'
Method 2: Determine the location of the resource you require then map it to a drive by going through the Novell Client:
Right click on the Novell N (red N on lower right of screen)
Click on 'Novell Map Network drive…'
Click on Browse
Expand 'Entire Network'
Expand 'Netware Services'
Expand 'Novell Directory Services'
Expand 'UNB'
Expand 'UNB'
Click on the network resource you are seeking (ex:. FIRECAT_ARCHIVE.UNBF), and then click 'Map' (N.B. You must have permissions to the network resource you wish to map in order for it to successfully map)
Click on 'O.K.'
Method 3: Map a drive through a command prompt (if you already know the path):
Optionally, if you already know the path you wish to map to, you may choose to map the drive from a command prompt by logging into Novell, clicking on start à run then selecting an unused drive letter and typing in the path you wish to map to (e.g. c:\>map k:=typhoon/sys:). For more details on syntax, type c:\ map/?
