I wish & I Want
Submitted by GeorgeS on Thu, 02/05/2009 - 18:29I wish
I wish means: wouldn't it be nice if...
If you always make the right decision, the safe decision, the one most people make, you will be the same as everyone else.
Always wishing life was different.
I want
I want means: if I want it enough I will get it.
Getting what you want means making the decisions you need to make to get what you want.
Not the decisions those around you think you should make.
Making the safe decisions is dull, predictable and leads nowhere new.
The most clever people at school are not those who always make it in life
Submitted by GeorgeS on Thu, 02/05/2009 - 13:32What you learn at school are facts. Your job at school is to accumulate and remember facts and figures. The more you remember the better you do.
Those who fail at school are not interested in facts; or maybe the facts are not put to them in a way they find interesting.
Some people simply don't have a great faculty for memory. This does not mean they are stupid. It means their imagination hasn't been fired up by academic tuition.
People who are conventionally clever get jobs on their qualifications ( the past), not on their desire to succeed ( now and the future).
You can achieve the unachievable
Submitted by GeorgeS on Thu, 02/05/2009 - 13:11Firstly you need to aim beyond what you are capable of. You must develop a complete disregard for where your abilities end. Try to do the things that you're incapable of. If you think you're unable to work for the best company in its sphere, make it your aim to. If you think you're incapable of running a company , make it your aim to. If you think you are unable to make a career change, make it your aim to.
Make your vision of where you want to be a reality.
Nothing is impossible

If you don't make mistakes you are unlikely to make anything.
Submitted by GeorgeS on Mon, 02/02/2009 - 19:28With regard to SEO techniques & adwords you need to fail before you succeed. Just get a plan and go for it. Don't stress too much to get it right first time. You won't! Get it out and amend it as you go along. What ain't working you can fix and fine tune it.
Benjamin Franklin said , " I haven't failed, I've had 10,000 ideas that didn't work."
Thomas Edison said, "Of the 200 light bulbs that didn't work, every failure told me something that I was able to incorporate into the next attempt "
If we don't get lost , we'll never find a new route. That is very easy in Cyprus !
Do not covet your ideas.
Submitted by GeorgeS on Sun, 01/25/2009 - 16:26Give away everything you know and more will come back to you. I firmly believe in that. On this basis I setup this web site. I like to share my knowledge I have learnt over the years in Hedge Funds, Stock Broking and Investment Banking.
From school I remember students preventing you from seeing their answers by placing their arm around their excercise book or exam papers.
It is the same at work, people are secretive with ideas. "Don't tell them that, they'll take the credit for it".
The problem with hoarding is you end up living off your reserves. Eventually you'll become stale.
